Show Me Your Craft Room Blog Hop - 1.20.2012

I'm over the top excited to show you the one place in our home that I treasure more than any other room ....MY CRAFT ROOM! I painted it half pink & half light green with a white chair railing since I couldn't decide which color I liked better. I always wanted a pink room and since I have 2 older sons (married) this was my chance to make it MINE!!
I am posting a series of  4 videos showing my most favorite room...my craft room!
Yes, it's super organized but that's the way I work best. The furniture is fabulous and so easy to put together,I love my storage desks from http://www.bestscrapbookshelf.com/ because of the drawer sizes as well as the inserts that are available. The prices are great and the quality and versatility is amazing!!!! I am very fortunate to have a large size room with a gorgeous view of my Palm trees & hibiscus flowers so I enjoy the bright "girly" space.
I hope this inspires you to make your own space special
so you can "ZONE OUT" anytime you want to create.
PLEASE NOTE: EACH VIDEO RUNS ABOUT 8 MINUTES (or less) SO YOU CAN GRAB A COFFEE, STOP AND COME BACK AT YOUR LEISURE....

IT'S WORTH IT!!
***********My music playlist is on so you will need to turn it to PAUSE (II) or you won't be able to hear my narrative on the video! You can find it at the bottom part of my blog. Thanks a bunch...enjoy!**********
Video Part 1 - 7 min.

Video Part 2 -8 min.

Video Part 3 -8 min.

Final Video Part 4 - 4 min.
****NOTE!!! Use heavy  weight  page protectors ****
I am so happy to give out some fun blog candy so please, become a follower and leave me a comment on the one idea  I may have inspired you with from my craft room.
o.k. hope you had fun ...

  4. Your videos are so worth watching! I dream of being that organized. I love your ideas of putting scrap ribbon in bags by color, using paint sample cards, hanging sheet protectors on a dowel rod for storing items. I need one of those desks with the adjustable drawers! Oh I could go on and on. My room is a disaster right now and it is so frustrating to try to sit down and create and have to go searching for what I need! Thank you so much for inspiring me to get organized! :)

  7. OMG...my whole craft room is about the size of your closet!!! What an amazing space...and so organized. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your embellishment shelf. So amazing.

  8. WOW! I would be scrapping everyday if I had a set up like that. I see what you mean by the clothesline approach to your embellishments. I think that is the one thing I would like to do, get my embellies out of the drawers and hanging where I can see them for inspiration and just to be using my stash..I have already forgotten half of what I own. I love my little space and have come to the realization that as long as the Ju-Ju lives here I will have no other option but you have sure given me more ideas for my dream!

  9. Wow, Claire! You have a warehouse-worth of stuff! A woman after my own heart. I label and organize everything too. There's something to be said about a little OCD, right?! I am so going to steal the dowel and sheet protector idea. What a great organizational tool, and so cheap! lol. I just became a follower. Can't wait to see what else I find on your blog! Thanks for sharing the great videos.

  23. LOVE your room! You are a woman after my own heart!! I am really excited about trying some of your ideas- my favorite idea that you had was to create your own clip it up organizer with the dowel! I have seen some really cool clips from Ikea and I think that will REALLY WORK OUT! Thank you for that! My tip for you is just as I organize my scrapbook things, I also organize my magazines that way. When I go to look for ideas I typically am looking for a theme and have the same mags (papercrafts especially!) that I tend to drift to. So I organized those that way. I used magazine holders that i bought from target at the $1 spot that were really colorful and separated my magazines by month/theme and manufacturer. If there was some idea that I liked, I would rip it out and I have created books with various ideas on there so that I can go back to them for ideas as well. TFS your awesome space and doing such a detailed set of videos! I ate my dinner while watching! LOVE your craft space! I am a follower and would be honored if you would check out my blog and do the same at ACreativeJourneywithMelissa. blogspot dot com. Have a wonderful day!

  24. I LOVE your colors... they are so pretty and feminine. I do not have a craft room or even area for that matter so I can't keep my stuff all neat like you. I do keep my ribbons in clear plastic shoe boxes from The Container Store so I can see them. They are organized by color and I also have special Christmas and Fall ribbon boxes. Thinking of doing the same for my flowers because they are all hanging on my Clip it up now and I need to make space for other embellishments.

  25. I love your space and how much you have in it! My favorite tip is the ribbon one that you gave! I have mine on clothespins but I may mix it up and do both :) LOVE IT! LOVE your craft space! 30. Now this is what I would call the Heavenly craft room...what a view. (I'm in KY and we are supposed to get icy rain mix...yuk). So many great creative ideas for storage and other uses such as ribbon and stamp holders...I could go on and on. Great room.
My favorite trick would be the paper coordination in the hanging file folder. Love that one.
Thanks so much for sharing your amazing space. Have a great weekend!

  36. OMG, I have seen the drawer systems at craft shows, but out of my range right now, but love your room. I like your idea on the ribbon on the paint chips. I am going to steal that one from you. I love that you have drawers for your little ones too. My grandsons have been coming in my room lately, so I think I will do the same thing and make each one a drawer. tfs Tami

I always look forward to her newest creation (makes me smile) and the ability to share ideas with someone so dedicated to her craft and the people who share her passion.
Thank you, Claire, for taking the time and putting in the effort to make this video.

  43. Love the way you broke the video up for the tour. I think the one thing I liked the best was the page protectors on dowels with odds and ends in them. I have a habit of putting stuff that I don't have a lot of in anyplace and then either I forget I have it or can't find it when I want it. Your room is very organized and I also love the custom drawer system but am sure that's a little out of my price range for now. TFS Jearise in Lorby's World.

  44. Love your room -- ultra-organized. I'm organized but MESSY, does that count!? For me, the best tip is: a place for everything and everything in its place!

  45. First of all I absolutely love your space and how you have organized it. I have two things that really inspired me. The first was the way you organize your embossing folders. All of mine are in a shoe box and I have to go through them each time to see what I have. I love the way you have them hanging. The other "tip" was putting a ribbon on the Martha Stewart handle of her scoreboard. I too have trouble opening it to get the bone folder out. I will definitely be using this tip!!

  57. Thank you for sharing your space . I loved the bins in closet for ribbons and the niche for your sewing machine. I wish I could help with organizing magazines but my final solution was to go through them, cut out the projects I liked, glue to a white sheet of paper ,three hole punch and put all the ideas in my own idea binder . I then sold mags for a quarter at my yard sale ..got rid of the bulk and made space for more paper lol
